The PhD Project - Driving diversity in business school and beyond

KPMG Foundation created, administers and serves as lead sponsor of The PhD Project, a separate 501(c)(3), that is changing the face of business academia by providing universities with diverse faculty candidates.  This helps expand the talent pipeline of minority business leaders and drive toward racial equity in business, especially in leadership roles.

Celebrating 25+ years of impact

  • 500% increase in minority business school professors
  • 96% of PhD Project members remain in academia

Higher Education – Addressing the talent needs of tomorrow

When the goal is to build the workforce of the future, every stage of the academic career matters.

KPMG Foundation’s strategic investments in the growth and development of university students and faculty are empowering both to reach their full potential. And, by passing on relevant and adaptable skills and a passion for learning, they’re helping to fill talent pipelines and close skills gaps in numerous areas of business.

With our financial investment, finance and accounting education and scholarships are flourishing, business schools are increasing diversity, and the impact of KPMGers’ university gifts is being multiplied.

K-12 – Where the love of learning begins

As the changing nature of work widens the skill gap in our most critical areas of society, it’s clear that better education today will benefit everyone down the road. And that starts with the youngest learners.

In collaboration with the extensive community impact efforts of KPMG LLP, KPMG Foundation invests in preparing young people in K-12 age groups with the skills and experiences they’ll need to succeed in their lives and careers.

Our efforts to close the literacy gap, expand a heralded financial literacy program, provide transformational accounting internship experiences, and empower young women to become leaders are ensuring a brighter tomorrow for all.

Lifelong learning starts with literacy
